Privacy Policy
Calculators run in your browser and the numbers you enter are never sent to a server.
Calculators and data
Our position size calculators and other tools run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are processed locally and are never sent to our server. We cannot see what you type into a calculator.
This means your trading plans, account size, and risk settings stay on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit that data. If you close the page, the data is gone unless you saved it yourself.
Traffic and cookies
We collect only aggregate traffic counts, such as the number of visitors to a page. We do not track individual behavior across the site. We do not use advertising cookies on our own pages.
When you click an affiliate link to a broker, the broker’s website sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We have no control over those cookies and recommend you read the broker’s policy.
Local storage
We use local storage in your browser to remember your preferences, such as dark mode or language. This is not a cookie and is not sent to us. You can clear local storage in your browser settings.
The only data in local storage is what you choose, like a toggle setting. It does not include personal information unless you type it into a form that we explicitly say is saved locally.
What Kolar Gold Desk stores and what it never touches
Kolar Gold Desk stores only the technical data needed to keep the site working: your IP address in server logs, a randomly generated session identifier, and any preference you actively save, such as a chosen language or display setting. No trading account numbers, no passport scans, no bank details and no payment credentials are ever requested or retained by this site. The content on Kolar Gold Desk is editorial, not account management, so the most sensitive parts of a trader’s life simply never enter its systems.
This site does not store your name, email address, phone number or physical address in any persistent database. If you use a contact form that becomes available in the future, that message would be held only as long as needed to reply and then deleted, but as of today no such form exists. The only personal information that could ever appear in server logs is the public IP address your internet provider assigns, and that is not linked to a real-world identity by Kolar Gold Desk.
What the site does store is deliberately minimal: a cache of the pages you have visited so that they load faster on a return visit, a cookie that remembers whether you have accepted or declined non-essential cookies, and an anonymous analytics identifier that cannot be traced back to you. Kolar Gold Desk does not build a profile of your trading habits, does not record which instruments you look at, and does not sell or rent any data to a third party. The line is simple: if it is not needed to display an article, it is not kept.
The exact cookies this site sets and what each one is for
The site sets one strictly necessary cookie that keeps your session stable while you move between pages; without it, the server would treat every click as a brand new visitor and the site would feel broken. This cookie holds a random string, not personal data, and it is deleted when you close the browser. A second necessary cookie remembers your cookie consent choice, so the banner does not reappear on every visit. These two cookies cannot be switched off because the site would not function correctly without them.
A small performance cookie from a privacy-focused analytics tool counts page views and measures how long pages take to load, but it does not collect your IP address in full and it does not follow you to other websites. The purpose is purely operational: to know which articles are read and which ones fail to load on certain mobile networks in India. This cookie lasts no longer than 13 months and you can block it without losing access to any content.
No advertising cookies, no social media tracking pixels and no cross-site retargeting cookies are set by Kolar Gold Desk itself. If you later click an affiliate link to a broker, that broker may set its own cookies, but those are governed by the broker’s policy, not by this site. You will not see personalised ads as a result of visiting Kolar Gold Desk because the site does not run an ad network and does not allow third-party advertising scripts on its pages.
Affiliate tracking stated plainly
Some of the broker links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you open an account through one of them, Kolar Gold Desk may receive a commission from the broker. That commission is paid by the broker, never by you, and it does not change the spread, swap or commission you pay on your trades. The pricing you see for XAU/USD at FxPro is exactly the same whether you arrive through this site or type the broker’s address directly into your browser.
Affiliate tracking works through a simple mechanism: when you click a broker link, a small identifier is appended to the URL and stored in a cookie on your device by the broker, not by Kolar Gold Desk. That cookie tells the broker, and only the broker, that your visit originated from this site. It does not record what you read here, does not link your reading history to your trading account, and expires according to the broker’s own cookie policy, typically within 30 to 90 days.
Kolar Gold Desk does not use affiliate tracking to build a profile of you, does not combine affiliate data with analytics data, and does not know which individual reader opened a broker account. The site only receives an aggregate report, such as the total number of clicks and the number of accounts opened, without names or identifiers. This is the full extent of affiliate tracking: a commission for the site, no extra cost for you, and no personal data shared back.
Third parties that receive any data from a visit to this site
Three types of third parties may receive limited data from a visit to Kolar Gold Desk: the analytics provider, the hosting provider, and the broker whose link you click. The analytics provider receives an anonymised page view, with your full IP address masked before it is stored. The hosting provider sees your IP address in server logs for security and performance monitoring. Neither of them can identify you as an individual from the data they receive.
When you click an affiliate link to FxPro, the broker receives the standard information any web server gets: your IP address, browser type, the referring page on Kolar Gold Desk, and the affiliate identifier. That is enough for the broker to credit the referral if you open an account, but it does not include your name, email, or anything you typed on this site. FxPro’s own privacy policy governs how it handles that data, and Kolar Gold Desk has no access to your broker account or trading history.
No other third parties are involved on a routine basis. The site does not embed YouTube videos, does not load social media buttons, does not use a third-party comments system, and does not serve advertisements from an ad network. If a legal authority in India or elsewhere requires disclosure of server logs, the hosting provider would be the party to respond, but such requests are rare and would only cover the limited technical data described above.
Your rights over the data this site holds and how to exercise them
You have the right to ask what personal data Kolar Gold Desk holds about you, and the answer will almost always be: nothing beyond an IP address in server logs and a few cookies. You also have the right to request deletion of any personal data that does exist. Because the site does not ask for your name or contact details, it cannot link a specific request to a specific person unless you provide your IP address and the approximate time of your visit.
To exercise your rights, send an email to the address listed in the site’s contact section, or use the privacy contact form if one is added later. State which right you wish to exercise: access, deletion, rectification, or objection to processing. Kolar Gold Desk will respond within 30 days and will not ask for more information than is necessary to verify that the request genuinely comes from you. There is no fee for making a request.
If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act gives you similar rights over personal data, and Kolar Gold Desk aims to honour them even though the site’s data collection is minimal. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is fully operational. In practice, because this site stores so little, most requests are resolved by clearing cookies and asking the hosting provider to delete a specific log entry.
How long data is kept and what triggers deletion
Server logs that contain your IP address are kept for no longer than 30 days, after which they are automatically overwritten or deleted. This short retention is a deliberate choice: the logs are needed only for diagnosing server errors and blocking malicious traffic, and there is no reason to keep them longer. The analytics data is kept in aggregate form for up to 14 months, but individual page views are anonymised and cannot be linked back to you.
Cookie consent choices are stored for 12 months, after which the banner asks again. The session cookie deletes itself when you close the browser. The affiliate tracking cookie set by the broker has its own lifetime, usually 30 to 90 days, and Kolar Gold Desk has no control over it. If you clear your browser cookies at any time, all cookies set by this site are removed immediately, and the site will treat you as a new visitor on your next visit.
Any personal data you provide voluntarily, such as an email sent to the site’s contact address, is kept only until the conversation is resolved and then deleted within 30 days. If you ask for deletion of log data, Kolar Gold Desk will pass the request to the hosting provider, who can remove a specific IP address entry before the automatic 30-day expiry. There is no backup system that retains personal data beyond these periods, because the site simply does not collect enough to need one.
Cookies and what each kind is for on this site
Kolar Gold Desk uses three kinds of cookies, and each one has a single, narrow job. The first is a strictly necessary cookie that remembers the result of your last calculator session, such as the lot size or margin figure, so the page does not reset when you refresh. This cookie expires when you close the browser and is not used for tracking. The second is a preference cookie that stores your chosen language and the unit system you prefer, for example showing prices in ₹ instead of USD. It lasts no more than 30 days and can be blocked without breaking the calculators.
The third kind is a set of affiliate tracking cookies set by FxPro when you click an outbound link from this site. These cookies are third-party and are controlled by FxPro, not by Kolar Gold Desk. Their only purpose is to record that you arrived at FxPro through our link, so that if you open an account, FxPro can attribute the referral to us. They do not read any data from this site beyond the fact of the click, and they do not give us access to your FxPro account or any personal details. You can decline these cookies in your browser or by using FxPro’s own cookie controls.
The site does not use tracking cookies for advertising, social media pixels, or cross-site profiling. There are no cookies from Google Analytics, Facebook, or any ad network on Kolar Gold Desk. The only analytics we run is privacy-respecting and does not set a cookie; it counts page views with a one-pixel image that carries no personal data. If you want to see exactly which cookies are active on your device, you can open your browser’s developer tools or the privacy report in most modern browsers. Each cookie is named plainly and can be removed with one click.
